Convictions Stand For Women Who Went Topless in Laconia
Back in 2016, three women went topless at a beach in Laconia, NH. They were arrested pursuant to a state public nudity law. The women sought to appeal their convictions to the United States Supreme Court after their convictions were upheld in state appellate court. The Supreme Court has decided not to hear the case, leaving their state convictions in place. Heidi Lilley, Kia Sinclair and Ginger Pierro, who are part of the “Free the Nipple” campaign, were originally arrested when outraged beach goers called the police after the women removed their tops and refused requests to cover up.
