Man Strangles Aggressive Coyote to Death in Exeter

A family was recently attacked by an aggressive coyote while going for a walk in Exeter. After the coyote grabbed and pulled his youngest of three children to the ground, Ian O’Reilly fought the coyote with his bare hands. He eventually strangled the animal to death. The same coyote is also believed to have attacked other people before going after the O’Reilly family. From NBC Boston: “Coyote came behind us and grabbed our youngest child and grabbed him to the ground,” he said. “My wife was able to disengage the two.” But the coyote wouldn’t back down. “It was very Continue reading Man Strangles Aggressive Coyote to Death in Exeter

Convictions Stand For Women Who Went Topless in Laconia

Back in 2016, three women went topless at a beach in Laconia, NH. They were arrested pursuant to a state public nudity law. The women sought to appeal their convictions to the United States Supreme Court after their convictions were upheld in state appellate court. The Supreme Court has decided not to hear the case, leaving their state convictions in place. Heidi Lilley, Kia Sinclair and Ginger Pierro, who are part of the “Free the Nipple” campaign, were originally arrested when outraged beach goers called the police after the women removed their tops and refused requests to cover up. From Continue reading Convictions Stand For Women Who Went Topless in Laconia

Biden Takes Lead in New Hampshire

With less than a month to go before the first in the nation presidential primary, former Vice President Joe Biden has taken the lead in a recent poll of New Hampshire voters. The Democrat contest has been very fluid of late as the relative political momentum of the various candidates ebbs and flows. While the current state of the race has Biden on top (if polls are to be believed), the results of the Iowa caucuses could potentially shake up the race in New Hampshire yet again. From The Hill: Former Vice President Joe Biden leads in New Hampshire ahead Continue reading Biden Takes Lead in New Hampshire

New Hampshire’s Quadrennial Political Circus

It happens every four years. Politicians desperate to become President of the United States set up camp in the Granite State and bombard us with their political messages for months. Welcome to the “First in the Nation Primay!” Some New Hampshire residents love it. They are political junkies and just can’t get enough. They love that our state is the center of the political world, if only for a moment. Other people hate it. They are sick of seeing political signs everywhere and hearing political ads every time they turn on the TV or radio. So saturated with political ads Continue reading New Hampshire’s Quadrennial Political Circus

Ice Storm Ends the Year in New Hampshire

As I type these words from central New Hampshire, it is 11:04 a.m. on Monday December 30. The entire state is currently experiencing a winter storm that, as of right now where I am, consists of sleet and freezing rain. We are under a Winter Storm warning from now until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday. I have not yet stepped foot outside, but there is already a clear accumulation of ice on tree limbs and other surfaces. As you know, ice is the worst. It makes for the most hazardous driving conditions and brings significant chance of power outages. For the moment, Continue reading Ice Storm Ends the Year in New Hampshire

Winter Fast Approaching in NH

As of this writing, we still have not gotten any snow in New Hampshire. Well, at least in this part of New Hampshire. I’m sure that the White Mountains have seen snow by now. That being said, the snow cannot be far off. The weather forecast includes the possibility of snow later in the week. When exactly, I have no idea. Every time I check, the forecast changes. Welcome to New England! I am of a mixed mind on snow. On the one hand I love snow. I love winter. I love the fun outdoor activities that go along with Continue reading Winter Fast Approaching in NH
